practice nurse
practice nurse (prak-tis) n. a trained nurse caring for the patients of one or more general practitioners in the consulting room and on domiciliary consultations. In Britain practice nurses are usually employed by GPs but may also be employed by primary care trusts as practice nurses or district nurses.
