Qin Shihuangdi

Qin Shihuangdi (259–210 bc) Emperor of China (221–210 bc). The first Emperor of the Qin dynasty, he reformed the bureaucracy and consolidated the Great Wall of China. Excavations of his tomb on Mount Li (near Xian) during the 1970s revealed, among other treasures, an ‘army’ of c.7500 life-size terracotta guardians.
