Potter, (Helen) Beatrix

Potter, (Helen) Beatrix (1866–1943) English children's writer and illustrator. Potter created the characters of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Squirrel Nutkin and others. Her first animal stories were The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1901) and The Tailor of Gloucester (1902).
