Craig, Charles (James) (b London, 1920; d Banbury, 1997). Eng. tenor. Concert début with Beecham 1952. Opera début 1953 with Carl Rosa (La bohème). Prin. tenor SW 1956–9. CG début 1959; ENO 1980; Salzburg Fest. 1970. Sang nearly 50 roles at all leading opera houses. Noted for his interpretation of title-role in Otello and of Siegmund in Die Walküre.
