Bennard, George
Bennard, George, American hymn composer; b. Youngstown, Ohio, Feb. 4, 1873; d. Reed City, Mich., Oct. 10, 1958. He served as a Salvation Army officer from 1892 to 1907; subsequently traveled as an evangelist in the U.S. and Canada. He wrote a number of sacred songs, among them God Bless Our Boys, The Old Rugged Cross, and Sweet Songs of Salvation.
