The Child ★ Kill and Go Hide 1976 (R)

Low-budget horror-quickie combining elements of “The Bad Seed,” “The Omen,” and “Night of the Living Dead,” that attempts to cash in on the fright-film craze of the early '70s. What we get is a poorly dubbed film that makes little sense, but does offer some interesting shocks. A young woman returns to her hometown to be the nanny for a disturbed girl, Rosalie (Cole), who has a bad habit of killing neighbors and talking to zombies in the local graveyard, all the way harping on her mother's mysterious death. This is one of those movies where everyone acts very eccentric, but said behavior doesn't add anything to the plot. The finale offers some excitement, but overall the film is more of a curiosity than a “must-see.” 95m/C VHS, DVD . Laurel Barnett, Rosalie Cole, Frank Janson, Richard Hanners, Ruth Ballan; D: Robert Voskanian; W: Ralph Lucas; C: Mori Alavi; M: Rob Wallace.
