Born Mar 9, 1708; died June 1, 1728; dau. of Catherine I (1684–1727), empress of Russia (r. 1725–1727) and Peter I the Great, tsar of Russia (r. 1682–1725); sister of Elizabeth Petrovna (1709–1762); m. Charles Frederick (1700–1739), duke of Holstein-Gottorp (r. 1702–1739), June 1, 1725; children: Peter III (b. 1728), tsar of Russia (1728–1762, who m. Catherine II the Great).
