Lily (Scacchi) is the lonely wife of reporter John (Wilby), living in India in 1954. She cannot nurse her newborn daughter and turns to the ministrations of bossy AngloIndian nurse Mary (Jaffrey), who is soon living in their household and having the child fed by her own sister, Blossom (Gupta). Meanwhile, the philandering John eyes Mary's niece, Rosie (Sakina Jaffrey), while Lily sinks into depression, and an increasingly mad Mary ruthlessly takes over their home. 124m/C VHS, DVD .
