Dreyfus, Huguett (Pauline)
Dreyfus, Huguett (Pauline), French harpsichordist; b. Mulhouse Nov. 30,1928. She studied in Paris at the École Normale de Musique and with Dufourcq at the Cons, (graduated, 1950) before pursuing advanced training with Gerlin at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (1953). After winning the 1st medal in harpsichord at the Geneva competition in 1958, she toured internationally; also was a prof, at the Paris Schola Cantorum (from 1967). While she has concentrated on the music of Bach, Couperin, Scarlatti, and Rameau, her repertory also includes adventuresome scores by contemporary composers.
