Finnish javelin champion. Name variations: Kaisa Parviainen; K.V. Parviainen. Born on December 3, 1914.

Katri Parviainen, the first Finnish woman to win an Olympic medal, placed second in the 1948 Olympic Games in London with a javelin throw of 43.79 meters (143'8"). Herma Bauma of Austria won the gold with a throw of 45.57; Lily Carlstedt of Denmark placed third.
