Landseer, Jessica (1810–1880)
British landscape painter. Born in 1810; died in 1880; daughter of John Landseer (1769–1852, an engraver); sister of Sir Edwin Landseer (1802–1873, animal and portrait painter) and Charles A. Landseer (1799–1879, genre and historical painter).
Jessica Landseer, the sister of Sir Edwin Landseer, was overshadowed by her brother for whom she kept house for most of her life. A painter, etcher, and miniaturist in her own right, she exhibited at the Royal Academy and the British Institution for many years.
