West German fencer. Born on June 12, 1952.
In the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, 32-year-old Cornelia Hanisch won the Foil team gold for West Germany (with teammates Christiane Weber, Sabine Bischoff, Zita-Eva Funkenhauser , and Ute Wessel ). She also took the Foil silver individual, losing the gold to 25-year-old Luan Jujie of China. Hanisch had entered the final at 16-1.
