Winterton, Ann (1941–)

English politician and member of Parliament. Born Jane Ann Hodgson, Mar 6, 1941; m. Nicholas Winterton (Tory MP), 1960; children: 2 sons, 1 daughter.

As a Conservative, elected to House of Commons for Congleton (1983, 1887, 1992, 1997, 2001, 2005); was shadow minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (2001–02); became Tory whip; was twice embroiled in controversy for telling jokes, the 1st revolved around Pakistanis, the second around the deaths of 20 Chinese immigrant workers.
