Terpstra, Erica (1943–)

Dutch swimmer and politician. Name variations: Erica Georgine Terpstra. Born May 26, 1943, in The Hague, Netherlands.

At Tokyo Olympics, won a bronze medal in 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay and a silver medal in 4 × 100-meter medley relay (1964); liberal politician, entered Parliament for the Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie (VVD, 1977); served as secretary of Health, Well-Being and Sports (1994–98) and vice-chair of the Tweede Kamer (1998–2002).
