American actress, singer and dancer. Name variations: Eleanor Shaler Dickson. Born June 17, 1900, in Indianapolis, IN; died Dec 22, 1989, in Gladwyn, PA; graduate of Vassar College; m. Colonel Benjamin Abbott Dickson; children: Colin Campbell Dickson; William D. S. Dickson (died 2003).
Dance satirist, was trained in ballet and other dance techniques; appeared in Garrick Gaieties of 1926, The Manhatters (1927), Pardon My English (1932), and other revues; wrote novels Wake and Find a Stranger and Gaunt's Daughter, among others.
