Won 10 national championships (1950, 1951, 1956, 1957, 1960, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968); was a member of 6 Olympic teams (1948, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, 1968); was the 1st woman chosen to carry the American flag during the parade of champions at Montreal Olympics (1968).
