Born Mary Anne Boulton, 1829; grew up in Oxfordshire, England; died 1912; dau. of Matthew Robinson Boulton (landowner); granddau. of Matthew Boulton (noted Birmingham coinmaker, manufacturer and engineer); m. Captain John Robb, 1856 (died 1858); children: 2 sons.
Plant collector who introduced an evergreen spurge species, Euphorbia robbiae, known as Mrs. Robb's Bonnet, to Britain (1891); nurtured her 150-acre garden in Liphook, Hampshire; donated plant seeds to Royal Botanic Gardens (1890).
