American murderer. Born 1905; m. Carroll Rablen.
Attended a weekly dance at Tuttletown, CA, while her deaf husband waited for her in car (April 26, 1929); around midnight, brought coffee out to him (he died in agony after complaining of bitter taste); after strychnine bottle was traced to her, was tried outdoors to accommodate enormous public interest in the killing; sentenced to life imprisonment.
