Bulgarian tennis player. Pronunciation: ma-LAY-vuh. Born April 1, 1975, in Sofia, Bulgaria; dau. of Youlia Berberian (her coach) and George Maleev; sister of Manuela and Katerina Maleeva (both tennis players).
Won singles jr. championship at US Open (1990); won 3 singles titles (Chicago, Moscow and Oakland, 1995); won 14 career singles titles.
