Freytag-Loringhoven, Elsa Von (1875–1927)

Danish-French poet. Name variations: Baroness von Freytag-Loringhoven. Born in Denmark in 1875; died of asphyxiation in 1927 at age 52.

An advocate of modern art and a published poet in the Little Review, also posed for many artists, including William Glackens, Robert Henri, and George Bellows; after the Bolshevik Revolution effectively wiped out her fortune, was found selling newspapers in Germany.
