De Ibáñez, Sara (1909–1971)

Uruguayan poet and educator. Name variations: Sara de Ibanez. Born 1909, near Paso de los Toros, Chambelain, Uruguay; died 1971 in Montevideo.

One of the most distinctive poets of her day, was influenced by the modernist, surrealist, and contemporary religious movements; writings include Canto (1940), Hora ciega (1943), Artigas (1952), Las estaciones y otros poemas (1957), La Batalla (1967), Apocalipsis XX (1970) and Canto póstumo (1973).
