Chladek, Dana (1963–)
Czech-American kayaker. Born Dec 27, 1963, in Decin, Czechoslovakia; grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; dau. of Stan and Emma Chladek, who were both on the Czech national team; graduate of Dartmouth, 1986; m. Thierry Humeau (French canoeist).
Immigrated to US at 5; won World Cup (1988); placed 1st in Champion International Whitewater Series Overall rankings (1990); won a bronze medal at Barcelona Olympics (1992) and a silver medal at Atlanta Olympics (1996), both for K1 slalom.
