American first daughter and illustrator. Born Amy Lynn Carter, Oct 19, 1967, in Plains, Georgia; dau. of Jimmy Carter (US president, 1977–81) and Rosalynn Carter; niece of Ruth Carter Stapleton; attended Brown University; Tulane University, MA in art; m. James Wentzel (computer consultant), 1996; children: Hugo James Wentzel (b. July 29, 1999).
Was 9 when she entered the White House; a student activist while in college, was arrested during protests against US policies in South Africa (then under apartheid); illustrated 2 books by her father: The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer and Christmas in Plains.
