Allen, Sarita (1954–)
American dancer. Born Nov 2, 1954, in Seattle, Washington.
Became member of Alvin Ailey Repertory Workshop (early 1970s) and joined senior company soon after; was principal dancer and danced feature parts in Ailey's Hidden Rites (1973), The Mooche (1975), Night Creature (1975), Three Black Kings (1976), and more; created major roles in Jennifer Muller's Crossword (1977) and Rael Lamb's Butterfly (1978); joined faculty of the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts in NY (2003).
