semi-natural woodland
semi-natural woodland On an ancient woodland site, stands of mainly native trees that have not been obviously planted, whose presence appears to be natural, and that have been managed over a period, resulting in some change in woodland structure and species composition. On a recent woodland site, the term includes all stands that have originated mainly by natural regeneration.
