muntjac
muntjac Small primitive Asian deer. It is brown with cream markings and has tusk-like canine teeth and short, two-pronged antlers. There are two well known species, the Indian muntjac or barking deer (Muntiacus muntjak) and the Chinese muntjac (M. reevesi). Height: to 60cm (24in) at the shoulder; weight: to 18kg (40lb). Family Cervidae.
