Muppets, the
Muppets, the a group of glove and rod puppets and marionettes, chiefly representing animals, and including such characters as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, created by Jim Henson (1936–90). First popularized in the children's television programme Sesame Street (1969–), they later appeared in The Muppet Show (1976–81).
