aikido

aikido

aikido Martial art based on an ancient Japanese system of self-defence. Unlike some other martial art forms, in which force is met with counter-force, aikido employs the technique of avoiding action by making use of an opponent's forward impetus, causing the attacker to suffer a temporary loss of balance. Some forms of aikido, such as tomiki, are also sports.
