Megaladapidae

Megaladapidae (order Primates, suborder Strepsirrhini) A family of Malagasy lemurs, most of which were giants. They survived until a few centuries ago and were eliminated by human activity. One extant genus of small lemurs, Lepilemur (sportive lemurs), with seven species, used to be included in the Lemuridae but is now recognized as a surviving member of the Megaladapidae.
