Kronos Quartet. String quartet founded in Seattle 1973 by David Harrington and re-formed in 1978 in San Francisco. Plays almost exclusively contemp. mus. incl. rock transcrs. Has given over 400 f.ps. of works by Carter, Feldman, Reich, Rihm, Gubaidulina, and others.
