curvilinear relationship
curvilinear relationship A relationship between two or more variables which is depicted graphically by anything other than a straight line. For example an accelerating rate of increase in deaths with age is represented by a steepening curve. Curvilinear relationships are very variable, and more complex and less easily identified than simple linear relationships. See also CORRELATION.
