Petrus Bonus

Italian alchemist and physician whose Pretiosa margarita novella (c. 1330) is an important work on alchemy. In the text Petrus, also known as Bonus Lombardo or Buono Lombardo of Ferrara, described the prevailing alchemical theories of the day. Some two centuries later, in 1546, the al-chemist Janus Lacinius edited the book and published it as The New Pearl of Great Price, which has remained in print almost ever since.
