Sordariales
Sordariales (subdivision Ascomycotina) An order of fungi in which the ascocarp is a perithecium that is not immersed in a stroma; asci are unitunicate and cylindrical to club-shaped, and the ascospores are often dark-coloured when mature. There are many genera. Most are saprotrophic, and found on dung, wood, or soil.
