Maastrichtian
Maastrichtian (Maestrichtian) Final stage (74–65 Ma) of the Cretaceous in Europe. The stratotype is described from the Maastricht area of Holland. Throughout western Europe, the Maastrichtian is characterized by chalk limestones. See also SENONIAN.
