Cordyline (family Agavaceae) A genus of plants which are unusual among monocotyledonous (Monocotyledoneae) plants in possessing woody stems. The leaves are narrow and tufted, some yielding useful fibre, others decorative. There are 15 species, occurring in the tropics and warm temperate regions.
