colinearity
colinearity The correspondence between the order of nucleotides in a section of DNA (cistron) and the order of amino acids in the polypeptide that the cistron specifies. The evidence for this is that the positions of mutation within a particular cistron correspond to, and are in the same order as, the positions at which amino acid substitutions are found in the polypeptide coded by the cistron.

The evidence for this is that the positions of mutation within a particular cistron correspond to, and are in the same order as, the positions at which amino-acid substitutions are found in the polypeptide coded by the cistron.
