Chloroflexaceae (order Rhodospirillales) A family of filamentous, thermophilic, photosynthetic bacteria which are capable of a gliding motility when in contact with a surface. Vesicles containing photosynthetic pigments are attached to, but not continuous with, the cytoplasmic membrane. There are several genera.
