EMC

EMC Abbrev. for electromagnetic compatibility. The property of equipment to work satisfactorily in an environment with other equipment. All pieces of electric equipment emanate electromagnetic (EM) radiation and are in turn susceptible to it. EMC measurements aim to characterize this property and conformance with legally enforced standards is mandatory.
