KAHN, LÉON

KAHN, LÉON (1851–1900), French historian and publicist. Born in Paris, Kahn became secretary-general of the Paris *Consistory in 1895. He was active in many Jewish associations in Paris; for a time he edited Univers Israélite and collaborated on the yearbook of the Archives Israélites. A specialist on the history of the Jews of Paris, he wrote a book, Les Juifs de Paris pendant la revolution (1899), and a number of studies on that subject, based on archival material.
