Udayana
Udayana (1025–1100 CE). A Hindu theologian of the Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika tradition who established arguments for the existence of God (Īśvara) by means of the Indian syllogism. The main argument in his ‘Handful of the Flowers of Logic’ (Nyāyakusumāñjali) is a form of the cosmological argument that the universe must have a maker as its cause because it has the nature of an effect.
