Śikhaṇḍin

Śikhaṇḍin. In the Mahābhārata, a Pāñcāla prince, son of Drupada, and brother of Draupadī and Dhṛṣṭadyumna, whose character is determined by his previous incarnation as a princess of Kāśi named Ambā. In Mahābhārata legend, Śikhaṇḍin is best remembered for his transsexuality. He/she is also said to be the incarnation of a rākṣasa.
