Hadley, Henry Kimball

Henry Kimball Hadley, 1871–1937, American composer and conductor, b. Somerville, Mass., studied at the New England Conservatory and in Vienna. He composed and conducted in Europe from 1904 until 1909. Upon his return he became conductor of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. From 1911 to 1915 he was conductor of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Hadley's compositions, which displayed his facility and craftsmanship, won a number of awards.
