Giacomo Cavedone (jä´kōmō kävādô´nā), 1577–1660, Italian painter, of the Bolognese school. He assisted Guido Reni in Rome, but his reputation as a master of color and composition was won through his paintings in the churches of Bologna. His paintings were strong in naturalistic detail and reflected Venetian influence. Virgin and Child with SS. Alò and Petronius is in the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Bologna.
