Boscoreale
Boscoreale (bôs´kōrā-ä´lā), town (1991 pop. 27,310), in Campania, S Italy, at the foot of Vesuvius. Roman villas have been excavated in the town. Also, a celebrated collection of gold coins, jewelry, and silverwork (consisting mostly of plates and cups with relief ornamentation) dating from the 1st and 2d cent. AD was unearthed there in the late 1800s.
