polyanthus Any of a group of spring-flowering, perennial primroses of the genus Primula. Occurring mainly in the n temperate zone, they may be almost any colour. They have basal leaves and disc-shaped flowers, branching from a stalk to form a ball-like cluster. Height: to 15cm (6in). Family Primulaceae.
