Mazzah

Mazzah. Unleavened bread eaten by Jews during the Passover Festival. When the Israelites left Egypt, they took mazzah with them because they could not wait for the dough to rise (Exodus 12. 39). Mazzah is described in the Passover seder as ‘the bread of affliction’, based on Deuteronomy 16. 3. See also AFIKOMEN; PASSOVER; SEDER.
