Cardinal directions

Cardinal directions. The division of space, in Hindu cosmology, into the 4 directions, NSEW, of great importance in sacrifice, orientation of towns and buildings, etc. With the triloka (see LOKA), they make up ‘all this’, i.e. the totality of space.

cardinal points. North, south, east, and west, so elevations facing these points are cardinal fronts.
