BAD LANGUAGE
BAD LANGUAGE. An informal term for expressions that offend against taste. Although often a weaker synonym of foul language, it is more likely to include obscene expressions and those that are blasphemous or abusive. The term does not usually include language considered stylistically bad, situationally inappropriate, or difficult to understand. See (A)ESTHETICS, SWEARING.
