Special Branch
Special Branch Department within every British police force that is technically affiliated to MI5, the intelligence bureau within the Home Office. Its duties are to investigate and deter all activities against the interests of the state, to protect visiting foreign rulers and dignitaries, and to monitor the immigration and naturalization of foreign nationals.
