Rhineland
Rhineland Region in w Germany along the w bank of the River Rhine. It includes Saarland. Rhineland-Palatinate, and parts of Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia. It saw heavy fighting in the later stages of World War II.
